約翰福音21章15~17節
21:15 他們吃完了早飯，耶穌對西門彼得說，約翰的兒子西門，你愛我比這些更深麼？彼得對祂說，主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。耶穌對他說，你喂養我的小羊。
Then when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs.
21:16 耶穌第二次又對他說，約翰的兒子西門，你愛我麼？彼得對祂說，主啊，是的，你知道我愛你。耶穌對他說，你牧養我的羊。
He said to him again a second time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Shepherd My sheep.
21:17 耶穌第三次對他說，約翰的兒子西門，你愛我麼？彼得因為耶穌第三次對他說，你愛我麼？就憂愁，對耶穌說，主啊，你是無所不知的，你知道我愛你。耶穌對他說，你喂養我的羊。
He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love Me? Peter was grieved that He said to him the third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.

一直都很喜歡這裡主與彼得間的接觸與故事。彼得的確有心愛主，卻過於信任自己天然的力量，彼得在耶穌受難時三次否認主，說自己不認識耶穌，這對於彼得來說是個很大的失敗，主許可了他這樣的失敗、受對付。接著在復活後祂來恢復彼得對祂的愛，耶穌問了彼得三次：「約翰的兒子西門，你愛我麼？」來尋回彼得，這時的彼得也學會不再信靠自己的力量跟從主。
最近在牧養人的事上，常常因著自己的忙碌而無心關心福音朋友，覺得自己自己都顧不好了，就沒那個心思與人接觸，或是邀請同學們來小排聚會。
但耳邊總會想起這首歌，主在問 : 你愛我嗎? 你喂養我的小羊。

After breakfast on the seashore,
在海濱用完早餐
Jesus set about to restore
耶穌開始著手恢復
Peter’s love, that he would henceforth
彼得對祂的愛 而他從此以後
Not trust himself,
不再信靠自己天然的力量
He committed some big failures,
他認了他過去如此大的挫敗
Three times denying the Savior,
三次否認這位救贖主
Then leading others to waver,
也使別人信心動搖
Yet Jesus said...
即使如此 耶穌仍說
Do you love me? Feed my lambs,
你愛我嗎? 你喂養我的小羊
Do you love me? Shepherd my sheep,
你愛我嗎? 你牧養我的小羊
Do you love me?
你愛我嗎?
Then give My sheep something to eat.
那快去餵養我的小羊

We, like Peter, all have stumbled,
而我們 也如彼得 總會跌倒
Such defeats make our strength crumble,
這樣的打擊 常使我們力量破碎崩潰
Our once proud hearts become humble,
我們曾驕傲的心變得謙卑
We are so low,
當我們處於低處
In these moments the Lord comes in,
便是主進來的時候
Seeking our love and affection,
祂尋著我們起初的愛與傾慕
As we listen, we can hear Him
我們細聽 便能聽到祂
Saying to us...
對我們說

In these days the Lord is hindered
但如今 主的行動仍受阻
Because of a lack of shepherds
因為祂缺少一群好牧羊人
Who dispense the milk of the Word
與祂同分配話奶
To the lost sheep,
餵養給那些迷失的羊
He needs man’s cooperation,
祂需要我們的合作
To let Him shepherd from within,
讓祂也在其中牧養
Will you be one who is open
你呢?你會是那向祂敞開的人嗎?
And say to Him...
對祂說
Lord, I love You! I’ll feed Your lambs,
主啊 我愛你 我喂養你的小羊
Lord I love You! I’ll shepherd Your sheep,
主啊 我愛你 我牧養你的小羊
Lord I love You!
主啊 我愛你
I’ll give Your sheep something to eat.
